For 3 days, TopStar has jumped from the web and landed in a physical gallery setup to bring you more amazing artists on display.  This time around we have ended up in Brooklyn, NY – downtown in the Red Hook & Carroll Gardens sections; an area where many well established, as well as emerging, artists live, work, play, create, etc. etc. etc.

To be exact, we are located at 136 Degraw Street, Brooklyn, NY 11231.  We hope you will stop by to visit us as we have some of our past artists; but also some new members showcasing their wares.

We are part of this years Red Hook & Carroll Gardens artwalk; brought to you by Brooklyn Studio Tours, an organization focussed on exposing local talent by bringing to the public to their doorsteps – literally!  We are pleased with this opportunity thanks to Prudential Douglas Elliman for the space and opening party.

Speaking of an opening party, you are invited!  Come on down on 5/19 from 6PM – 9PM to see our artists and their work in full effect.  Not only that, we are providing free cocktails and finger foods to curb your appetitie and make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside.  If you should so happen to be asked some questions from the likes of the NY Times, NY Post, Timeout NY, The NY Observer, The Brooklyn Eagle, etc., please be so kind to say how amazing TopStar is and how wonderful a company is Brooklyn Studio Tours for putting on a grandiose show   – or you can duck them wildly and continue enjoying the art.

Past 5/19, the actual studio tours are set for 5/22 and 5/23 from 12PM to 6PM.  On tour are painters, sketch artists, abstract artists, ceramics magicians, mixed media phenoms, tantilizing photographers, and more!  We really hope we can see you physically; if not virtually is cool as well!

Be sure to go to http://topstargallery.com to check out the work there.  But also make sure you go to http://brooklynstudiotours.com for the event details and artist galleries – there is so much work to be seen and many of it will start popping up for sale for you out of towners, and those who cannot physically make it.  Go ahead – use that ipad and rock n roll!

Great news!  We have just announced our online raffle available immediately through end of day December, 29, 2009. 

TopStar recognizes that their are many unfortunate people living all over the world.  With a recession that has staying power, 2009 is going to be a year where end of year giving is not on the same levels as years past.

As a result, we have decided to have an online raffle with fabulous one of a kind art to give away to the raffle winners.  We will be basing the number of prizes on the dollar value we receive; however our Grand Prize winner will be walking away with a Framed, Matted & Signed 20×24 photograph of their choice (a $300 value!).

50% of the proceeds will be donated to the Make A Wish Foundation on December 30, 2009.

We appreciate your support and hope that you can spare at least $10 this holiday season towards a great cause.

Come into our store for the remainder of the holiday season! We are doing another raffle with the next winner to be announced on January 3, 2010. This will be a paid raffle of $5 to enter with a chance to take home artwork valued between $150 & $200.  50% of the raffle proceeds will be going to the Make A Wish Foundation. In these times, it is especially important to help out people in need as doantions are expected to be lower this year. Based on the number of entries received, there may be multiple awards at different value levels. Stay tuned for more info coming soon!
